About Us

It all started when...

Our co-founders, Lindsea Hayes and Campbell Whalen (both 17) have been friends since going to kindergarten together in Charlotte, Vermont. Campbell has been an avid designer since age 14, and often sews clothing lines for local art shows. In October of 2016, Lindsea asked Campbell to help her make a cute blanket for the winter. They travelled together to the fabric store, picked out a classic red flannel, and decided to line the inside with soft, fluffy fleece. They worked together that afternoon, crafting a cozy, warm, beautiful blanket. Lindsea brought her new favorite blanket everywhere - to bonfires, apple picking, picnics, etc. As the OG blanket made its way around town, always in the back of Lindsea's car, other people started asking for their own. Our founders came up with the idea of selling the blankets, and thus Lavish Lion Blankets was born. 

Our name, Lavish Lion, is an ode to Lindsea, who, because of her long curly blonde hair, has been given the nickname, Lion. Lindsea's blanket idea and Campbell's construction sparked a small business, that has been flourishing since the fall of 2016. 

We aim to make our blankets from the highest quality flannel, fleece and faux fur. Most of our designs are plaid flannel backed with faux fur for warmth and comfort. Our blankets usually range in price from $50 to $70. Typically, our blankets are made to order, and therefore our business is done through personal contact.
